A CBI special court on Thursday sentenced a public sector bank branch manager to two years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 after convicting him on a bribery charge.

Special CBI court judge Ravindra Patwari sentenced Pradeepta Kumar Sarkar, then branch manager of Madhya Grameen Bank, Masaurhi (Patna), to two years' RI and imposed Rs 15,000 fine after finding him guilty of taking Rs 1000 as bribe from farmer Vishwanath Sharma for making entry in his passbook about payment of Rs 12,000 as crop insurance claim in 2006.
