Mumbai: A scuffle broke out between BJP and Shiv Sena workers in a Mumbai suburb on Tuesday at a Ravan dehen (Ravan burning) function organised by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
What triggered the brawl was reportedly the depiction the “BMC mafia” as Ravana.
Somaiya, who has time and again blamed the Thackerays for corruption in the civic body, said the “BMC mafia” had paid goons to go after him. Some Sena workers allegedly pushed Somaiya.
“There was a scuffle between the workers two political parties in Navghar area. Police immediately intervened and brought the situation under control. Offence will be registered and action as per the law will be taken. The situation is peaceful and under control,” Mumbai Police said.
