Six dead, 10 injured in two road mishaps

CHITTOOR: Seven people died and 10 others were injured in two different road mishaps in the district on Thursday.In an accident at Vengalaraju Kandriga on Renigunta-Puttur road, six died and 10 suffered injuries when the Toyota Qualis by which they were travelling collided with a lorry coming in the opposite direction and overturned. Meanwhile, another speeding lorry rammed the overturned vehicle. Five of the 16 passengers died on the spot. They were identified as S Naveen Kumar (25), V Suri (23), K Rajesh (22), K Ramasetty Diksha (24) and KS Raju (26). According to Vadamalapeta SI Sanjeev Kumar, all the occupants of the Qualis were from Ongole and were on a pilgrimage to Tirumala.  A case has been registered.In Kalakada, a teacher was killed when a speeding RTC bus hit the motorcycle he was riding on Piler-Rayachoti road. The victim was identified as M Reddykumar Reddy (32), a native of Kotagandlapalle.
