New Delhi: Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar is recovering from double pneumonia at his house in San Diego.

Though he's still on oxygen and under the supervision of doctors, his condition is not critical.

Pandit Ravi Shankar came home after being in the ICU of a local San Diego hospital.

He was in hospital in October and was being treated for pneumonia.

Shankar is one of the best-known Indian instrumentalists, recognized widely for his pioneering work in bringing the power and appeal of the Indian classical music tradition, as well as Indian music and its performers in general, to the West.

His musical career spans over six decades and he currently holds the Guinness Record for the longest International career.
