Shun selfishness, says Krishna Iyer

KOCHI: Former Chief Justice V R Krishna Iyer gave away the Mother Teresa Awards on Monday. During the function he highlighted the work of Mother Teresa and stressed on the importance of following the tradition set by her.
"Today we are all destroying each other. If we have to survive, the only way is through love and brotherhood. Selfishness will not take us anywhere," he said.The awards, instituted by the Socialist Samskara Kendra, were given to people from across the sociocultural spectrum in recognition of their charitable work. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala and BJP state secretary A. N Radhakrishnan received the awards from the field of politics. Captain Raju, Salim Kumar, Maniyanpilla Raju and Soorya Krishnamurthy received the recognition from the field of arts and cinema.
