Seven persons were injured when two groups clashed over issue of illegal soil mining in Tirath village of Keshoraipatan police station area of Bundi district, police said.

Seven persons were injured when two groups clashed over issue of illegal soil mining in Tirath village of Keshoraipatan police station area of Bundi district, police said.

Two groups headed by Pappu Meena and Hanuman Meena entered into a clash on Monday night and attacked each other with sticks and stones, injuring seven persons, said DSP Ranu Sharma.

Both the groups were engaged in illegal mining of soil in Tirath village and nourished a past enmity over money, said Sharma. Pappu was severely injured and is in critical condition while six others received minor injuries, he added.

A case has been registered against both the groups under sections 307, 123 and 143 of IPC for attempt to murder, design to wage a war and unlawful assembly respectively.

Seven persons have been arrested in this connection and police is further probing matter, the DSP said.
