BANGALORE: Former minister S N Krishnaiah Setty was weeping and holding his head with his hands after the judge denied him bail.After pronouncing the bail order, Justice N K Sudheendra Rao adjourned the proceedings for verifying documents. A perspiring and upset Setty, between sobs, was discussing his future with his advocates and calling his family on the phone.As the judge started verifying documents, Setty’s advocates were eager toknow about his arrest and judicial custody. Setty then suddenly collapsed and advocates and his friends cried for help. Justice Rao asked officers to open the doors to let in sufficient air. When the advocates brought to the judge’s notice Setty’s hypertension and sugar level, he called for an ambulance and asked the authorities to allow Setty to undergo treatment in the jail hospital.A 108 ambulance rushed to the court premises and took him to jail with security. Setty, known for distributing God’s idols, Gangajal and Tirupati laddoos, will now spend time as a common undertrial in jail.
