Serial blasts rock Kathmandu; 2 killed, 15 injured
No death has been confirmed by the police.

Kathmandu: A year after the Maoists signed a peace pact with the Government ending their violent guerrilla war, a series of bombs exploded on Sunday afternoon in at least five busy areas of Kathmandu valley.

Early reports said at least two bystanders were killed and over a dozen injured in the blasts, four of which occurred in the Capital.

Four of the busiest areas in the Capital, Balaju, Kalimati, Tundikhel and Tripureshwor, were targeted by unknown attackers.

One of the explosions occurred in front of the newly built World Trade Centre in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu's tallest shopping complex and conference area, while another went off close to it in Tundikhel, near the army officers' club.

A fifth blast was reported in Kirtipur.

No one had claimed responsibility for the explosions immediately.

Three bomb blasts rocked the Nepalese Capital of Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, leaving at least 15 people injured.

One of the bombs exploded in a crowded passenger bus near the United World Trade Centre in Tripureshwor, police said.

Another explosion took place in a minibus at Balaju Industrial District in the outskirts of city.

The third bomb exploded near Babylon Disco in Sundhara area of Kathmanu, police said.

The injured were taken to a city hospital. Though a local radio channel reported one death in the blasts, it was not confirmed by the police.
