The Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath has tightened security in Ayodhya, combining deployment of forces, to ensure comprehensive safety for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, which will see thousands of priests, saints, VVIPs and foreign dignitaries attending the event.

Anti-terrorism squad commandoes and anti-bullet proof vehicles have been stationed in Ayodhya, which is now under the watchful eye of drones equipped with artificial intelligence, alongside anti-mine drones, as part of the concerted efforts to enhance security in the region.

While AI-supported drones are conducting aerial surveillance across Ayodhya, promptly reporting any suspicious activity to the control room, anti-mine drones are simultaneously inspecting the ground for mines or explosives.

Notably, CM Yogi Adityanath has directed police officers to implement these security measures in Ayodhya. As part of this initiative, the UP Police has introduced AI-based anti-mine drones for deployment.

What are anti-mine drones?

Operating at a height of one metre above the ground, the anti-mine drone is equipped with advanced technology for detecting underground explosives. There is a plate below it which is helpful in spectrometer wavelength detection.

This drone scans the area under the ground. Through this drone, mines or explosives can be detected and neutralised in large areas.

Pran Pratishtha ceremony will take place on January 22 in Ayodhya. Ram Temple trustee Champat Rai told News18 that nearly 100 planes could land in Ayodhya between January 18-22, including at least 25 chartered VIP aircraft on the 22nd. “The Ayodhya airport has been asked to make all arrangements,” Champat Rai said.

For January 21 and 22, over 100 VIPs are expected to land in Ayodhya on nearly 50 special flights ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi arriving at 11am. These special VIP planes may need to be parked at nearby airports in Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Kushinagar as the PM’s aircraft will park in Ayodhya.
