You've got to hand it to the transportation service Easy Cabs to turn a public relations disaster into a publicity coup. When a disgruntled Nimrat Kaur tweeted complaining that her airport drop did not turn up, she was least expecting the cab company to make up for the lapse in this amusing yet effective way.
On February 21, Kaur tweeted from her handle @nimratkaur13 "A no-show for my airport drop. Was stranded with no responsibility taken or information given in time...so disappointed with #Easycab!"
Easy Cabs, perhaps to show how contrite they were, wrote Kaur, whose performance in the 2013 film Lunch Box was widely appreciated, a handwritten apology letter and sent her a lunch box full of chocolates. The letter is a nice touch.
Irrfan Khan who played Sajan Fernandes, an elderly man grieving his wife, and Kaur playing a lonely housewife start a correspondence through handwritten letters exchanged through lunch boxes in the film.
Here is the text of the letter that Easy Cabs sent Kaur:
Dear Nimrat
Hope your trip to Delhi was relaxing, warm and delicious. We'd like to apologize once again for the unfortunate lapse on your way to Mumbai airport. We'll do our best to make sure there are no sequels. Here's a little something to make up for that fateful Friday.
As promised, your next ride is on us. we appreciate your acting as well as your patience.
Have a great flight back.
Easy Cabs
