New Delhi: Nepal's local TV stations on Friday carried pictures of the country's dethroned King Gyandendra and his wife Kolmal entering their son Paras’ home Nirmal Nivas around 12.33 am.
However, it could not be confirmed whether it was merely a casual visit to his son’s house or a permanent shifting over.
Palace sources indicated the Gyanendra has not vacated. In fact, his mother, wife of the late King Mahendra, is still in the palace and reportedly firm that she will not leave.
It appears the formal letter from the government asking Gyanendra to vacate is yet to be delivered and will most likely be handed over on Friday.
Also the king's standard royal flag no longer flies over the palace. It's been replaced by Nepal’s National Flag.
