SABARIMALA: The revenue earnings at Lord Ayyappa temple during the first 15 days of the ongoing Mandalam-Makaravilakku season shot up by Rs 11 crore and reached Rs 39.11 crore as against Rs 28.11 crore the same period during the last season. TDB president M Rajagopalan Nair said that the income from the sale of aravana prasadam came up to Rs 17.68 crore during the period under review as against Rs 14.54 crore during the same period last season. Aggregate hundi collection stood at Rs 14.08 crore during the first 15 days of this season in contrast to Rs 11.4 crore during the corresponding period of the previous season.Income from appam sales came up to Rs 3.14 crore as against Rs 2.74 crore. Ayyappa Chakram Released TDB president M Rajagopalan Nair released the Ayyappa chakram made of 4 gram gold with 916 purity, with Lord Ayyappa’s image on one side of the chakram, after receiving it from Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu. Melsanthi N Balamurali, Devaswom Commissioner N Vasu, executive officer and sopanam officer Ajithkumar and administrative officer Rajan were present on the occasion. CCTV Facility Inaugurated. The TDB president also inaugurated the CCTV facility at Sannidhanam, covering Sopanam, currency counting centre and North Nada, by switching on the computer at the Sopanam near the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple. Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu , Melsanthi N Balamurali, Devaswom Commissioner N Vasu, Sabarimala executive officer M Satheeshkumar and administrative officer Rajan were present on the occasion.
