Remembering Sudhir: The veteran actor who portrayed negative and comic roles with utmost ease

Yesteryear actor Sudhir was the very essence of the typical Bollywood villain in the '70s and '80s.But the popular actor, who had chosen to remain away from the limelight in the later years of his life, passed away after battling a lung ailment.While his name might not ring a bell right away, but one look at his photograph, and any Indian who has grown up with a steady diet of Hindi films, will recognise him. Known for his films such as 'Satte Pe Satta' with Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini, 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', 'Dharmatma', and more recently, 'Baadshah', with Shah Rukh Khan, the actor was known to portray negative as well as slapstick characters.According to media reports, the actor was the stepfather of noted writer and columnist Ashok Banker, and uncle to acclaimed filmmaker Milan Luthria.
