HYDERABAD: Film actor and NTR's son Nandamuri Balakrishna has said that he was ready to take active part in the Telugu Desam Party activities to spread NTR's ideology among the people. He said that films and politics are like two eyes for him. Paying rich tributes to his father N T Rama Rao, Balakrishna celebrated his 51st birthday with the cancer patients and children at the Indo-American Cancer hospital here on Friday. On the occasion, Balakrishna planted saplings on the hospital premises. Later, he visited all wards in the hospital and interacted with the patients.Later speaking to newsmen, Balakrishna said that he would strive to spread his father's ideology and would extend all help to TDP by participating in various programmes taken up by the party. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, his family members and film fraternity wished Balakrishna on his birthday. Balakrishna announced a donation to NTR Charitable Trust and promised free education to a couple of students. Balakrishna called upon philanthropists to extend their financial help to the cancer hospital to provide better medicare to the patients. Meanwhile, his fans celebrated his birthday by cutting cakes and distributing sweets to patients in hospital, besides feeding the poor at arterial junctions. Hundreds of fans participated in a blood donation camp, organised by the NTR Trust on the occasion. NTR Trust chief executive officer Metaparthi Venkat told mediamen that they would also provide rabies vaccine free of cost. He said the trust volunteers would supply vaccine in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Warangal, Hyderabad and Rajahmundry. For more details contact 040-30799999.
