Heat wave conditions on Wednesday swept across Rajasthan even as mercury dipped by one to four notches at many places in the state due to south-west movement of clouds.

According to MeT office, Churu recorded the maximum day temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius.

The blistering heat wave conditions slightly abated over the state due to movement of south-west monsoon in Kerala and Maharashtra and fresh influx of moisture, a weather expert said.

Ganganagar recorded a maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees C followed by Bikaner and Kota 44.2 each, Barmer 43, Jaisalmer 42.3 while Ajmer 41.3 degrees C.

Heat wave conditions also subsided in Jaipur district as mercury dipped by one to two notches as compared to Tuesday. Jaipur recorded a maximum of 44 degrees C.

There would be further slight respite from heat wave conditions in the state during next 24 hours, a MeT office forecast said.
