Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will reach Amethi on Wednesday for a two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency to meet party workers and review the work of central schemes.
"Rahul will be on a two-day visit starting January 22 during which he will meet party workers and make surprise inspection of some villages to review progress of central schemes," Rahul's representative Chandrakant Dubey had said on Monday.
His trip comes shortly after AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, who was campaigning in Amethi for his party, had targetted him over development issues in the area.
"A lot of claims has been made on development of Amethi but the reality is that there is no development here... Coming here and returning after waving at people will not serve the purpose of development," he had said. Earlier, Vishwas had visited a number of places in Amethi, and inaugurated a cricket tournament.
