PUranks 4th among Central Universities

PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry University has climbed to fourth rank among Central Universities in the country, as per Scopus rating.University V-C J A K Tareen said Pondicherry University is ranked after University of Hyderabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University and University of Delhi. The rating is based on citation index and h-index that assess the quality and quantity of research output based on an international citation tool and database.The university is attempting to rank first in the country, he said. The student strength has gone up to 6500 from 1800 and would be doubled in the next five years, said Tareen.
