BHUBANESWAR: A group of school students had a narrow escape when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a truck along Janpath near Satya Nagar on Sunday afternoon. The accident left six students, their four teachers and the driver injured. Luckily, no one was critically hurt although their vehicle turned turtle after meeting with the mishap. Police said, the students, five of them girls, were returning from Balianta after appearing for a scholarship test. They all hail from Mahakalpada block of Kendrapada. Four teachers were also accompanying them. According to eyewitnesses, the SUV the students were travelling in was hit by a dumper which was taking a right turn near the Kali Temple Square. After being hit, the driver lost control and the vehicle turned turtle. Even as locals feared for the worst, the passengers escaped with bleeding injuries. The injured were rushed to Capital Hospital. A case has been lodged with Kharavela Nagar Police Station in this regard.
