Policeman shot dead by 3 assailants at Srisaganj checkpost

A policeman was shot dead when he stopped three persons for checking in Srisaganj area here, police said on Friday.

28-year-old Ramakant was shot at when he along with his colleague Anil Kumar stopped three persons on the basis of suspicion late on Thursday night, SP Rakesh Singh said. One of the three shot dead the policeman. Ramakant was rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.

The SP said a team has been formed to arrest the assailants.
