Police lathicharge protesters in Hisar

Hisar: A group of protesters were lathicharged in Hisar, Haryana on Monday when they were agitating outside the District Collector's office.

Hisar Superintendent of Police Hanif Qureshi said that the protesters started pelting stones on the police force after which the order for a lathicharge was given.

"There were about 300 protesters. The people protesting were organised by Ved Prakash Kanwar. They were provoked by the speech of Ved Prakash Kanwar and then they broke the barricade and started stone pelting. Some police personnel too were injured in the incident. The police carried out a mild lathicharge," said Qureshi.
