Hanoi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his counterpart Chinese premier Wen Jiabao met in Hanoi on Friday. The two leaders were in Vietnam to take part in the ASEAN-India and East Asia Summits.
Manmohan Singh has underscored concerns over Beijing's intentions towards India.
The two leaders discussed the controversial issue of stapled visa along with economic aspects of the relationship in the meeting.
The Chinese Premier is likely to visit India by the end of this year.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that both sides discussed cooperation at G-20 and the climate change.
Ahead of the meeting taking place on the sidelines of ASEAN-India and East Asia Summit, the Indian government sources expressed hope that it would be good and "substantive."
China's recent refusal to reconsider issuing stapled visas to Kashmiris has deepened suspicions that it is no longer neutral over Kashmir. And that Beijing has made a calculated decision to throw its weight behind Pakistan on Kashmir.
Manmohan Singh will also seek clarifications over China's reported troop presence in Gilgit, China's role in infrastructure projects in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Sources said economic aspects of the relationship will come up during the talks amid India's concerns over trade imbalance in favour of China.
