Petition to CM cell fetches pay for faculty

COIMBATORE: A private engineering college in Namakkal district has settled the salary dues of nine faculty members on the intervention of the CM Cell and the Anna University of Technology.The management of the JKK Nattraja College of Engineering had allegedly withheld the salaries of some teachers as they had resigned and joined a new institution. Following a petition from the teachers, officials of the cell asked the AUT Coimbatore, to take action. The university constituted a probe panel. “Immediately thereafter, the college wrote to us informing that the salary dues have been settled and submitted cheque numbers as proof,” a university official told Express.When contacted, college authorities said that nine teachers had resigned without giving sufficient notice. “But once the teachers protested and decided to take up the matter legally, we released their salaries,” they said.
