Officials meet victims of clinical trials

WARANGAL: After coming to know that women from Warangal district also had become victims of clinical trials apart from those in Guntur district, Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) team members interacted with them on Sunday.Team member Ramakrishna Naik asked some victims about the clinical trials and also met many other victims in DC Tanda, Bhavani Kunta Tanda, Nilagiri Swami Tanda, Bandakinda Tanda and Tallkunta Tanda near Wardhannapet in the district. He also met the doctors who were treating the victims. The team members asked how the clinical trials were conducted on them and about their health condition now. Naik also called on S Chilakamma who became seriously ill after the trials. He examined the prescriptions and medical history of the victim. The team also called on another woman in DC Tanda, who has been ailing for the last two years.CDSCO south zone assistant drug control member P V N Prasad and another official Chandrasekhara Rao from Hyderabad accompanied Ramakrishna Naik who said that the enquiry report would be submitted to the Union Health Ministry soon.
