Spine 2012 was inaugurated by Dr Preetha Reddy, Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals.The gathering was welcomed by Dr JKBC Parthiban, who is also the organising chairman of the event. The keynote address was delivered by Dr P S Ramani, Founder and honorary President of NSSA and senior neuro spinal surgeon at Mumbai.He opined that despite the tremendous strides that neurosurgeons have made in neuro spinal surgery, lacunae has remained in the training of young neurosurgeons in modern techniques.
