The press however has maintained that the notes have not been rejected by the RBI.

New Delhi: Former Reserve Bank of India governor Duvvuri Subbarao may have vacated the office of India's Central banking institution in 2013 but currency notes bearing his signature continued getting printed till February 2014.

According to reports, one of the printing presses continued printing currency notes with Subbarao's signature even after he was replaced by Raghuram Rajan.

The press however has maintained that the notes have not been rejected by the RBI.
