TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board of trustee has decided not to give any special treatment to VIPs for darshan of Lord Vekateshwara on New Year's Day (January 1) and Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi (January 5 and 6).The Board which met under chairmanship of K Bapi Raju on Sunday has decided to allow ministers, MLAs, MPs and other VIPs special darshan only if they come personally and inform the TTD of their decision to come before December 25.Bapi Raju said the decision was taken to provied hasslefree darshan to all devotees. It was also decided to provide assured darshan to 30,000 devotees each on Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi, by giving Sheegra Darshan tickets which cost Rs 300 for Rs 100 online from December 21.The devotees, who purchase tickets online and at e-Darshan counters, have collect the real tickets by showing the online tickets at the hill shrine. It was also decided to allow 2,000 aged and physically challenged persons through Mahadwaram on both days.
