The Bombay High Court has decided to clamp down on adult content on television in it's August 23 order.
Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Wednesday clarified that its August 23 order on broadcast of adult movies did not restrain the broadcasters and cable service providers from airing movies with "U" and "U/A" certificates.
The Court gave the clarification in response to an application made by a cable subscriber.
It also asked the cable service providers not to flash messages saying movie channels were off the air following the order of the High Court.
The HC said it had not stopped nine movie channels, which are currently off the air in Mumbai, from operating but had only restrained them from showing adult content.
The court's ban order on adult movies had come on a PIL filed by a Mumbai college professor.
