The Vallioor Judicial Magistrate issued non bailable warrant against British national Jonathan Robinson, who was accused in a paedophilia case here.

R A H Siguran and Suganthi Shaiju, of the Bangalore-based voluntary organisation Justice and Care, had approached Tirunelveli Child Welfare Committee on August 12, 2011, and given a written complaint that a  child staying at Grail Trust Children Home, which was funded by foreigners, including Jonathan Robinson, at Chinnammalpuram near Vallioor, was sexually abused and tortured by Jonathan Robinson.

Through the Child Welfare Committee, they met Tirunelveli  district Superintendent of Police Vijayendra S Bidari and lodged a complaint. Subsequently, the SP took action and a police team raided Grail Trust Children home and the child was rescued and handed over to Saranalayam, reception unit of the Child Welfare Committee. In this connection, a case was registered against Jonathan Robinson under sections 342, 363, 368, 377 read with 511 of IPC and Section 23 of Juvenile Justice Act, for taking the minor victim from Vallioor to New Delhi and then to Shimla and sexually assaulting the boy.

Tirunelveli District Police had issued a look out notice for Jonathan and a charge sheet was filed in the case before the Vallioor Judicial Magistrate.

Sources said the boy, who was in Class 9 then, was taken away in between his examsination. Before reaching Shimla, they stayed in Delhi for three days, where Jonathan started his sexual assaults.
