Muzaffarnagar shivers at 1.9 degrees C as mercury dips in UP

The minimum temperatures dropped across Uttar Pradesh on Thursday with Muzaffarnagar being the coldest at 1.9 degrees Celsius.

MeT office said that night temperature appreciably fell in Gorakhpur division; fell in Varanasi, Faizabad, Kanpur, Meerut and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.  They were markedly below normal in Faizabad, Kanpur and Meerut divisions; appreciably below normal in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Lucknow, Moradabad, Agra divisions; below normal in Bareilly and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.

Lowest minimum temperature in the state was 1.9 degrees Celsius recorded at Muzaffarnagar.   Parts of the state witnessed cloudy skies since the morning.  Weathermen forecast that rain or thundershowers would occur at few places in the state tomorrow.
