Mumbai: A constable attached to the Taloja police station was arrested by the Navi Mumbai police on Wednesday night for kidnapping and extortion. The constable had allegedly threatened a 29-year-old lady by saying that there was a case against her.
He then forced her to accompany her on his motorbike and withdraw Rs 10,000 from an ATM and give it to him.
The lady was in an auto when the constable picked her up and the auto driver alerted the lady's mother who in turn got in touch with the police.
