MTC bus driver assaulted

CHENNAI: An MTC bus driver was assaulted by local residents, after he hit a pedestrian, here on Sunday.Inspector Rajasekhar told Express that MTC route 159, proceeding from ICF to Thiruvottiyur, was coming down the Elephant Gate bridge, when it hit a pedestrian, Govindaraj (25) of the locality. Immediately, locals gathered there and broke the windowpanes of the bus and assaulted the driver Gnanasekhar. A complaint was lodged by the bus conductor, Venkatesan.
