MPBSE Board Class 12th Result 2017: Shopkeeper's Son Defies Odds, Tops Exams
“We faced major financial difficulties but made sure our son was not affected by this,” said Sanyam’s teary-eyed mother Seema Jain, as she looked over at her husband, Anil, who was brimming with joy.

Bhopal: Seventeen-year-old Sanyam Jain has proved that no obstacle is big enough to become an impediment for success.

Son of a small time shopkeeper and school teacher, Sanyam emerged at the top when Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education announced results for class XII on Friday.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh felicitated him as he stood smiling with proud parents by his side. His father, who earned a meagre Rs 6,000 per month by working in small garment shops in Tikamgarh district, moved base to Vidisha, where he runs a shop, to aid Sanyam’s education. His mother took up a teaching job to help her husband with income.

“We faced major financial difficulties but made sure our son was not affected by this,” said Sanyam’s teary-eyed mother Seema Jain, as she looked over at her husband, Anil, who was brimming with joy.

“We’re extremely proud of him. His hard work has finally paid off,” said Sanyam’s father.

“I worked hard, but never expected to top the exams. I want to pursue my bachelors in education and eventually become an IAS officer,” said the young topper, who also excels in sports.

The felicitation was, however, marred by the absence of the class X state topper, Devprakash Manjhi. When asked, authorities refused to comment on the absence.
