PRODDATUR: Kamalapuram MLA, G Veerasiva Reddy has complained against Grade IAddl SP, Jayalakshmi to the Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar and the Committee on Privileges.In a press release, the MLA said that he had informed Addl SP about his intentions to discuss with her about the attack on SCs in Machanur village of Pendlimarri mandals three years ago. But police officer had replied that it was not necessary for MLA to meet her and he could very well discuss the same over the phone.The MLA said that he had asked Addl SP to arrest the culprits, to which she had asked him to inform the whereabouts of the accused, so they could be arrested. Reddy said that he had raised the matter with police officials twice and had received a similar response.It was because of Addl SP's negligence, the accused were able to get anticipatory bail. The attitude and the conduct of police officials was in clear violation of his rights as a peoples' representative, and hence he had lodged a complaint with speaker and the committee, he said.
