THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even before the beginning of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), the selection of a cinema to the competition section has become controversial with Minister K B Ganesh Kumar alleging that the festival committee received the film ‘Aadimadhyantham’ in incomplete form. He told reporters here on Wednesday that the film had no proper soundtrack and title card. To prove his point, the Minister held a preview of the film for the mediapersons at the his office. He said that there was mystery behind the selection of films to the competition section. The selection committee alone is responsible for the selection of films and at no stage he had intervened in the process, the Minister said. The film shown to the mediapersons contained the pilot track with noises during the shooting. He said that it was important to have the title card for the films being screened in the competition section. There was not even the name of the director. Editor Beena Paul has also denied of editing the film and hinted at initiating legal action for misusing her name, the Minister said. He said Chalachithra Academy chairman Priyadarshan would reach here on December 2 and further action would be taken after holding discussions with him. Ganesh Kumar said that the Academy secretary would seek an explanation from the director of the film, Sherry. Asked weather the jury members would be reshuffled, he said that it was likely.
