PATHANAMTHITTA: St Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, bagged the championship at the Mahatma Gandhi University Youth Festival - Sargodayam-2012 - which concluded at Tiruvalla on Sunday. St Teresa’s College won 70 points when the final results of all the 52 competitions were announced. RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithura, won the second position with 54 points. The final results were delayed till 8.20 p.m. owing to the participation of about 50-odd teams for the group music competitions. Sacred Hearts College, Thevara, won the third position with 48 points. Federal Institute of Science and Technoloy, Angamaly, bagged 38 points and Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, won 33 points.KalathilakamSaranya Sasidharan of Angamaly Federal Institute of Science and Technology bagged the Kalathilakam title. Saranya, who bagged 16 points, bagged the title by winning first prizes in Mohiniyattam and Bharathanatyam and second positions in Kuchupudi and fancy dress. Saranya is the eighth semester student in computer science of the Federal Institute.KalaprathibhaRahul R Nath of Mar Baselios Colege of Engineering and Technology, Peermade, bagged the Kalaprathibha title. Rahul, who got a total of 14 points in the competitions, is the fourth-year student of computer science. He won first place in cartoon and mridangam and second position in light music and third place in classical music. Film director Blessy inaugurated the valedictory function and distributed the trophies to the champions and Kalathilakam and Kalapratibha winners.
