MALKANGIRI: Protesting the encounter killing of its top leader Kishenji, the CPI (Maoist) Central Committee has called for a two-day bandh from December 4. It also called for a protest week from Tuesday. In a banner found at Govindpalli, the Maoists have made death threats against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Home Minster  P. Chidambaram and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Banners have been put up at many places on the Malkangiri-Jeypore State highway passing through Govindpalli, about 50 km from the district headquarters town.The posters have also appeared in Pandraguda, Kusumput, Madkapadar and Badural areas under Khairput police limits in Malkangiri district.The posters alleged that Kishenji was kept in police custody for two days before being bumped off in a fake encounter.The banners have spread panic in the southern Odisha districts and many feel the warning should not be taken lightly.  Posters FoundKoraput: Maoist cadres of the Koraput-Srikakulam divisional committee on Tuesday felled trees and put up posters at Narayanpatna, Laxmipur, Bandhugaon and Almanda claiming that Kishenji’s encounter was a fake one.The posters also read that the PLGA week will be observed from December 2 to 8. The Maoists demanded an end to police atrocities and the Operation Green Hunt. The incident comes even as a large number of security personnel have been deployed in the region ahead of the PLGA week.An alert has been sounded and cops have intensified patrolling.
