Giridih (Jharkhand): Maoists blew up a stretch of railway track near Karmavad railway station in Giridih district of Jharkhand in the wee hours of Monday.
The blast, which occurred around 2 am, destroyed a metre-long track including wheels of a goods train, the Divisional Railway Manager, (Dhanbad Railway Division), A Upadhaya, said here.
He said several trains have been stopped at various points following the damage to the track.
Trains on the Delhi-Howrah route have been affected.
This comes with the Maoists calling a 48 hour-bandh in 6 states on Monday.
