HUBLI: In a horrifying incident a man allegedly murdered his wife and his two children by strangulating them at his house in Garden pet locality in Gantikeri police limits on Sunday night.Following the incident the police have arrested the accused who has been identified as Sanjay Chikkode (39), while the deceased have been identified as Vidya (28), his son Tushar (7) and their daughter Khushi (2).Vidya was married to Sanjay, who then worked in a petrol bunk. Since the couple quarreled regularly they were asked by their parents to shift to Hubli and were residing in a rented house. While Vidya worked in a tailoring shop for a weekly wage of about `800, her husband worked as a security guard in a jewellary shop in Hubli. However, Sanjay had recently left his job and was idle for some time. He was pestering his wife for money to buy alcohol and fought with her on refusal. Police said Sanjay picked up a quarrel with his wife on Sunday and subsequently killed her strangulating her with a rope and also killed his two children, police said.The incident came to light only in the morning at 10.45 am when the owner of the shop where she worked came for a lookout for her. While Sanjay who has spent the whole night in the house stated to have killed her. Police have arrested the accused and are investigating the matter. A case is registered at Gantikeri police station.
