Man hacked to death

BANGALORE: A person was hacked to death under Tyamagondlu police station limits near Nelamangala over a love affair on Friday night.The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Murthy (25), a resident of Hanumanthapura.The accused Shashi Kumar (22) is Murthy’s relative and a resident of the same village. They were working in factories.Both were in love with a girl who is also an employee with a garment factory. Six months ago Murthy had warned Shashi to keep away from the girl and had also attacked him.Later, with the intervention of the villagers, the duo had no fights, police said.However, on Thursday night, Shashi took Murthy to an isolated place in the village and hacked him to death with a machete. Murthy who was shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Police said that the accused is absconding. According to the police, even Murthy’s mother Jyothamma was murdered by his father Ganga Venkataiah over a trivial issue.
