New Delhi: After making her directorial debut and being declared the richest woman by Forbes magazine, singer Madonna has found her way into the headlines yet again after being formally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
“The world is full of Madonna wannabes. I might have even dated a couple. But there is truly only one Madonna,” says singer Justine Timberlake.
And that is true enough. The queen of pop has added another feather to her cap.
At the high profile event of Rock and Roll Hall of fame that was attended by stars including Tom Hanks, the diva remembered all the people who helped her along the way in her speech.
“And those who "said I was talentless, that I was chubby, that I couldn't sing, that I was a one-hit wonder, they helped me, too. They inspired me because they made me question myself repeatedly and pushed me to be better,” said Madonna.
You may not know about her being chubby, but if you are wondering what the Queen of Pop is doing in a Rock and Roll hall of fame, you aren't alone.
Critics are already labeling her as quite unsuitable for the honour as her music does not fall into the genre of Rock N' Roll.
Madonna's new album is titled Hard Candy, and is scheduled to hit stores on April 29.
She however, refused to perform at the event, and instead, chose Iggy Pop, to salute her work.
Other artists who were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame this year included John Mellencamp, The Dave Clark Five, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff and Canadian songwriter Leonard Cohen.
