The cooking gas (LPG) supply in Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Thrissur districts will be restored to normalcy soon with the bulk LPG transporters deciding to call off the strike after the tripartite meeting called by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
After hearing the difficulties expressed by the transporters who ply in the state, the government took a favourable stand and insisted on the safety requirements to be adhered to by the LPG bullet trucks. The strike was called off based on the assurance given to the transporters from both the sides. The bulk LPG movement in the state will be immediately restored back to normal, the transporters said. With this decision, the oil companies would now be able to receive bulk LPG for their bottling operations and work towards restoring the LPG supply to the consumers.
