The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) President JP Nadda, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore and party leader Bansuri Swaraj listened to PM’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ along with booth workers.
A LOOK AT WHAT PM MODI SAID:
- This year marks 75 years of the Indian Constitution, PM Modi said, adding that is also the 75th year of the Supreme Court. “The Constitution of India is made after such intense brainstorming, that it is called a ‘Living Document’. In the third chapter of the original copy of the constitution, the fundamental rights of the citizens of Bharat have been described,” he said.
- Talking about the recently inaugurated Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the prime minister said that “Lord Ram brought the nation together”. He said that the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony has woven a common thread in uniting the citizens.
- “During this time, many people sang Ram Bhajan and dedicated them to Shri Ram. On the evening of 22 January, the entire country lit Ram Jyoti and celebrated Diwali. The nation witnessed a collective power, which also forms the basis of our pledge of developed Bharat,” the prime minister rejoiced.
- Women empowerment was also a key point in the prime minister’s radio program. He said that “women’s power” in the Republic Day parade was the most talked about. “When women contingents of the Central Security Forces and the Delhi Police started marching on the Kartavya Path, everyone experienced a sense of pride…” PM Modi said.
- He said that as many as 1,500 daughters took part in cultural programs. “Many female artists were also playing Indian musical instruments like conch shells, nadaswaram, and nagda,” he noted.
- PM Modi said that the DRDO’s tableau caught everyone’s eyes, saying that it showed how women’s power is protecting the nation in every field — “be it water, land, air, cyber or space”.
- ‘Women in sports’ was also a focus point in the 109th episode of Mann Ki Baat. The prime minister noted that 13 women athletes were honoured with the Arjuna Award this year, adding that their life journeys intrigued the entire nation. “Physical, economic challenges could not deter these courageous and talented players,” he added.
- PM Modi hailed the contribution of the nation’s women in every field. He said women have made notable mark in self-help groups as well. “Today, the number and scope of women’s self-help groups in the country have expanded substantially. The day is not far when ‘NaMo Drone Didiyan’ will be seen helping in farming through drones in the agricultural field in every village,” the prime minister said.
- He further pointed at the women of Nibiya Begumpur Village — associated with SHGs — who prepare bio-fertilisers by mixing cow dung, neem leaves, and several medicinal plants. Additionally, he said, “these women have formed an organisation named ‘Unnati Jaivik Ikai’, which helps these women in preparing bio-products.”
- PM Modi mentioned the recently announced Padma Awards and said that this time as well the awardees — far away from any limelight — were engaged in social services. He noted that the “credibility, prestige, and respect” of the award is increasing year by year.
- Talking about the organ donation campaign, the prime minister said “there have been more than a thousand people in the country who donated their organs after their death. This decision, though difficult, saves many lives.” He hailed those, who even in tough times, respected the last decision of their loved ones.
- Lastly, he took note of the Ayurvedic and Unani treatments and said that the Ministry of Ayush has classified the data and terminology related to Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani medicine. He added, “The WHO has also helped in this. With their combined efforts, the terminology related to diseases and treatment in Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha medicine has been codified…”
During his last address on December 21, 2023, the prime minister spoke about India’s growing self-confidence, the spirit of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the government’s Fir India movement.
“Nowadays we see how much there is talk about lifestyle related Diseases, it is a matter of great concern for all of us, especially the youth,” he had noted.
PM Modi had said that India is becoming an ‘innovation hub’, which is a symbol of fact that the people of the country are not going to stop.
Requesting people’s participation, he asked the citizens to keep writing to him about innovative health care startups that can help the country towards realising the dream of Fit India.
Notably, PM Modi had mentioned about a young couple from Byndoor in Karnataka’s Udupi district, for opting to clean the Someshwara beach instead of a honeymoon trip.
The couple, earlier this year this received an invitation from the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) to witness the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
The PM’s notice was caught by the couple’s noble act, because of which he acknowledged and mentioned them.
The prime minister’s monthly radio program first started on October 3, 2014 and so has had 108 episodes.
