Logos to make your dream home unique
A Thiruvananthapuram-based designer has come up with an idea where each house would carry a unique logo.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: If you are an average Malayali who is ready to spend lakhs and crores for a dream home and still thinks ‘what is in a name’, it’s time to rethink. Thiruvananthapuram-based designer Prasanth Nair has come up with an innovative idea - HomeLogos, where each house would carry a unique logo. Prasanth, the brain behind the initiative, is the creative designer of 12th Century Designs which makes HomeLogos for houses.

Apart from the logo, the HomeLogo would carry a caption and other features which would be exclusive for each house.“HomeLogos was launched on 11/11/11. The idea is to give identity to houses. Every house, big or small, carries the same old nameboards written on plywood or acrylic. I did a HomeLogo for my friend’s house named ‘Pearl’ at Balaramapuram.

A caption ‘Better reasons to live’ was added along with the logo. Graphics of a portion of the house too was engraved on it,” Prasanth said.HomeLogos are made on laser engraved acrylic sheets, wood or any metal based on the requirement of the customer. LED display too is made on the logos. Prasanth got the idea during a walk through Kowdiar.

“A number of big and small cars passed by. But we couldn’t identify anyone. Then I saw Maharaja Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma’s car. One could easily identify it since it carried a conch sign. That is when the idea about designing HomeLogos came to my mind. We are spending lakhs and crores on a house. Name is an identity. It will give a distinct feature to the house,” he said. If the customer demands, the company would suggest names for houses. “The designs, material and captions are all made on the requirement of the customer. The whole cost, including fitting, would be around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000,” he  said.
