Kiran dealing with protests like a dictator: KCR

HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is acting like a dictator in dealing with movements and protests, Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao has said. Addressing striking junior doctors at the Gandhi Medical College here on Tuesday, Rao criticised the chief minister for threatening the fasting junior doctors that ESMA would be invoked against them.“The court taught the chief minister a lesson when the government put TRS leader Cheruku Sudhakar in jail under ESMA. He should remember it before making a statement.’’ Extending support to the fasting junior doctors, Rao said all the demands raised by them were justified.“Will you live in the state capital with a monthly salary of Rs 18,000?’’ he asked the chief minister and remarked that while the government was in a hurry to increase the ministers’ salary, it was not responding to junior doctors’ demand of regular payment of stipend.“How can junior doctors lead their life if their stipend is paid once in six months?’’ he wondered.“The government has to provide facilities like residence at each medical college to junior doctors according to the Medical Council of India norms but the state government has violated them.Will the chief minister be ready to face cases for this violation?” he asked.
