Marthanda Varma is the younger brother of the last ruling monarch of Travancore kingdom Maharaja Chitra Thirunal Rama Verma.
Thiruvanantapuram: Uthradam Thirunal Marthanda Verma, the scion of the Travancore royal dynasty died on Monday at the age of 91. According to royal family sources he breathed his last at 2 am on Monday morning.
He was admitted to a hospital on December 6. It is being said that his daughters and son were at his bedside, when the 'maharaja' of Travancore passed away. He will be cremated at the Kavadiyar Palace grounds later in the day.
