PERAMBALUR/CHENNAI: The lorry driver and the vehicle involved in the accident that killed Minister for Environment and Minority Welfare N Mariyam Pitchai on May 23 was brought to Perambalur on Monday.According to sources, Kasim Rahamadullah was interrogated on Monday. On Tuesday the police would take him to the accident spot as part of the investigation before producing him at the court here.The lorry that had hit the car in which the minister was travelling to Chennai on the fateful day was also brought to Perambalur and has been stationed at the A R Ground by the CB-CID sleuths.Meanwhile in Chennai, the Assembly on Monday, expressed condolence over the death of Environment Minister Mariam Pitchai and seven other former members. Speaker D Jayakumar read out obituary references recalling the services of former members A Baluchamy (Nilakottai), T Vediyappan (Polur), V K Raju (Arakkonam), K Parthasarathy (Kallakurichi), C Nallasamy (Karur), M R Soundararajan (Bhavani) and M Chinnakulandai (Arni). He moved a resolution condoling the death of Mariam Pitchai. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and other members observed silence as a mark of respect for the late minister. After this, the Speaker adjourned the House without transacting any business.
