Kiliroor case trial begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The trial in the Kiliroor sex scandal case, which has been shifted to the CBI court here, began on Monday with Omanakutty, the first accused turned-approver in the case, submitting a statement to the effect that Sari S Nair, the victim and who is her younger sister’s daughter, was raped many times by the accused.She also stated that in the guise of giving a chance to act in movies and serials, Sari was trapped by Latha Nair and her accomplices - Kochumon, Manoj, Prasanth and others - and subjected to sexual exploitation by taking her to Kumily, Edapally, Pazhani and Guruvayur.On the basis of the statement, the cross-examination of Omanakutty will begin in the court on Tuesday.
