Bangalore: The Lokayukta Court on Monday granted bail to former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, his corporator son Jagadish and S V Srinivas, Managing Director of Itasca software firm, the main accused in Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) land scam.
Lokayukta court judge N K Sudhindra Rao granted bail to all three accused on "humanitarian grounds" while imposing certain conditions which included furnishing of personal bond of Rs five lakh, two sureties for a similar sum and a direction not to tamper with prosecution witnesses.
Jagadish and Srinivas were also directed by the court not to enter the KIADB office without prior permission of the court and furnish certified extracts of all their bank accounts details from 2007 to till August eight, the date on which summons were issued to them.
The court also directed that in case Jagadish (A2) and Srinivas (A3) came in contact with A4 (Jaggaiah) and A5 (Venkaiah), who are absconding and against whom proclamations have been issued and separate chargesheets filed, they would communicate it to the Investigating Officer (IO).
The two shall not come in contact with any person in connection with the case.
Barring medical treatment for his father Katta Subramanya Naidu, who is sufferring from cancer, in London and him accompanying his father in this connection, they (A1 and A2) shall not move out of the country for any other reason after their return, the court said.
Barring their absence during their visit to London, Jagadish and Srinivas will mark their attendance before the IO every first and third Saturday between 1-2 pm.
The court warned that if any of the bail conditions were violated, the accused would be "invariably arrested". The former minister and his son are in judicial custody since August 8 in connection with KIADB land scam and irregularities in securing compensation for those whose lands were acquired.
