BANGALORE: Gynaecologists from all over the country came together, shared and exchanged their concerns, and charted the way ahead for better health care for women in Asia here on Friday.They were participating at the three-day international congress on Women’s health Care titled ‘Journey through the ages,’ which was inaugurated on Friday.The deliberations on innovative methodologies to deal with the challenges in the Indian context would be the highlight programme, said Dr Hema Divakar, president of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and organising chairman of the congress.She also said that the action plan for implementing Government health schemes for women will be charted out in the seminar. The technical inputs required to support Government’s programmes will also be a topic for discussion. They will aim at implementing these projects, collate the data, and analyse the impact.The experts will discuss issues related to obesity in teenagers and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), contraception and cervical cancer vaccine besides adolescent anaemia during the first day of conference.The second day’s conference would witness the participation of experts from south Asian countries such as Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Dr Rohana Hatatuwa from Sri Lanka and Dr Rashid Latif Khan from Pakistan would share their experiences and leading laproscopic surgeons from India Dr Shyam Desai and Dr Prakash Trivedi from Mumbai and fertility specialists from the city of Bangalore, Dr Kamini Rao and Madhuri Patil and others will exchange ideas.
