New Delhi: Popular superhero Shaktimaan, who ruled the television in the late 90's has now been recreated in animation. The show is currently being broadcast on Nick and soon the series will be distributed internationally. Six times Emmy award winning writer Jeffrey Scott has penned down the scripts for Shaktimaan in Animation.

"Shaktimaan in animation is nothing short of magic. It has retained all the right elements of Shaktimaan and yet has given it a face-lift for the modern day kids. I think this series has given Shaktimaan a status of immortality since that is the beauty of animation," said Mukesh Khanna, who played the titular character.

"Shaktimaan is now placed alongside its global counterparts like Superman, Spiderman, Batman in terms of scale and positioning," added Khanna, who is also the creator of the original Shaktimaan.

Except for three characters, Shaktimaan, his arch-rival Kilvish and the evil scientist Dr Jakol, every character and element of the series is new.

The voice dubbing was done in New York with English as the primary language to be dubbed later into Indian regional languages.
